24/7 Emergency Electrician Brisbane

Sparking outlets, burning smells, no power? Our after hours electricians cover Brisbane, Ipswich, and Logan around the clock. Call now and we will make it safe.

What Counts as an Electrical Emergency

If any of these are happening at your place, stop and call. If you are not sure, call anyway: the phone triage costs nothing and could save a switchboard, or worse.

No power to your property

If your home or business has lost power while the neighbours still have theirs, the fault is likely inside your switchboard or wiring. We find it and get the power back on.

Call now →

Burning smell or overheating

A burning smell near the switchboard, a power point, or an appliance means something is overheating. Switch off at the board if safe to do so, then call us straight away.

Call now →

Sparks, buzzing, or damage

Visible sparks, buzzing sounds, or damaged outlets point to loose or failing connections. Do not keep using the circuit. These faults start fires.

Call now →

Safety switch keeps tripping

Reset it once. If it trips again immediately, a circuit or appliance has a real fault and the switch is doing its job. Leave it off and call.

What Happens When You Call

A clear process, whether it is 2pm or 2am.

1

Triage on the phone

We ask what is happening, judge the urgency honestly, and tell you what it will cost. If it can safely wait until morning, we say so.

2

Nearest electrician dispatched

The closest available KTM electrician heads your way with a clear arrival window, briefed on the fault before they arrive.

3

Made safe, then fixed

Safety first: isolate the fault and stabilise the system. Then repair on the spot where possible, with a written report on completion.

What to Do While You Wait

Safety first, in this order: if a circuit has tripped, unplug the appliances on it, because a faulty appliance is the most common cause. Reset the safety switch once only; if it trips again, leave it off. Keep everyone clear of damaged or exposed wiring, and if something is burning at the switchboard, switch off the main if it is safe to reach.

One more check saves some callers a callout fee: if the whole street is dark, the fault is the network, not your property. Report it to Energex on 13 62 62 (or 13 19 62 for fallen powerlines and life-threatening emergencies). If it is just your place, that is us: call and we will get moving.

A residential switchboard with safety switches
What a wonderful response I had from KTM Solutions this morning to an emergency situation Zac found and isolated the problem quickly. Highly recommend and will use them for all my electrical needs from now on as they are local. Also, the price was very reasonable for time spent at property.

After Hours Electrician Brisbane

Electrical faults do not respect business hours, so neither do we. The same licensed KTM electricians who work your suburb by day cover Brisbane, Ipswich, and Logan overnight, on weekends, and on public holidays. Whether you need an urgent electrician at 2am or a same-day electrician because the oven died before a dinner party, the process is identical: quick triage on the phone, a clear arrival window, and the full price before work starts.

The after hours jobs we attend most:

  • Whole or partial power loss inside the property
  • Safety switches and RCDs that will not stay on
  • Burning smells and overheating switchboards, made safe on arrival
  • Storm and water-affected wiring and boards
  • Businesses with refrigeration, security, or critical equipment down

And some honesty you will not hear from every 24 hour electrician: if your problem can safely wait until morning, we will tell you on the phone, because a scheduled daytime visit costs you less. When it cannot wait, we come. Either way you decide with the facts in front of you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find your answer? Call 07 3813 0067 and we will happily talk it through.

How much does an emergency electrician cost in Brisbane?
After hours work costs more than a scheduled daytime visit, which is exactly why we price it on the phone before anyone is dispatched. You will know the full cost up front and can decide with the facts. If the fault can safely wait until morning, we will tell you that too.
How quickly can you get here?
It depends where you are and where our nearest electrician is, so we give you an honest arrival window during the first phone call rather than a promise we cannot keep. We cover Brisbane, Ipswich, and Logan around the clock.
Is my problem actually an emergency?
If there is a burning smell, sparks, damaged wiring, or a safety switch that will not stay on, yes: stop and call. If you are unsure, call anyway. The triage conversation is free and we will tell you honestly whether it can wait.
The whole street has lost power. Should I call you?
No, save your money. A street-wide outage is a network fault: report it to Energex on 13 62 62. Call an electrician when your property is the only one dark, or when power is on but something inside is faulty. For fallen powerlines call Energex on 13 19 62 and keep well clear.
Do you handle after hours emergencies for businesses?
Yes. Refrigeration down, security systems dead, a switchboard fault stopping tomorrow's trade: our emergency team works through the night so your business does not lose a day. Maintenance contract clients get priority response.
I manage rental properties. Do you provide documentation?
Yes. Every emergency job ends with a written record of the fault, the work done, and any recommendations, which is what property managers and landlords need for their files. We work with agents across Brisbane, Ipswich, and Logan.
Can you fix the fault on the spot?
Usually. Our vans carry the common failure points: safety switches, breakers, and standard fittings. When a full repair needs parts or daylight, we make the site safe, restore what can be restored, and book the follow-up before we leave.
